Bengaluru-based deeptech startup CIMware has raised $2.3 Mn in a Pre-Series A round led by @TransitionVC , marking a significant milestone in its mission to revolutionise AI data centres with sustainable infrastructure. The funds will boost hardware production, expand the software team, and support operational costs as the company eyes global expansion.
Founded in 2018 by Rajiv Ganth, former MD of @cloudsimple (acquired by Google), CIMware has developed Composable Infrastructure Modules (CIM units) that allow pooling and software-level control of computing, storage, and networking. These units reportedly reduce energy consumption by 80% and cut capital expenditure by 66%, offering a scalable, green solution for AI-heavy workloads like video streaming and LLM training.
Backed by grants from India’s @DoT_India , CIMware plans to generate revenues from India and the US through direct sales, while targeting white-label deployments in South Asia. With a bold ambition to capture 25% of the $500 Bn global DCIM market by FY27, CIMware is positioning itself against giants like @Dell , @Huawei , and @Cisco a tough race, but one that aligns with India’s growing AI mission.
The Centre’s ₹10,000 Cr India AI initiative and the rise of LLM players like @SarvamAI and@GnaniAi are accelerating demand for compute infrastructure. As global AI leaders like xAI, Meta, and @thinkymachines raise billions to fuel their ambitions, CIMware is betting on its homegrown edge to stand tall in the future of AI data architecture.
